Outdoor Adventures

Golf
Did you know that golf balls travel up to 20% farther at high altitude? Why not bring your clubs and see how spectacular championship mountain golf can be? Tee times, and club rentals, can be arranged at a variety of golf courses in the area, including the acclaimed Red Sky Ranch and Beaver Creek Golf Club for guests staying at The Pines Lodge.

Jeep, Hummer, and ATV Tours
Let an experienced guide drive you through the beautiful Colorado high country in a comfortable four-wheel drive Jeep or Hummer. Enjoy day tours of old ghost towns, and mining towns, and enjoy scenic panoramas of snowcapped peaks, sapphire lakes and meadows full of wildflower blooms. If you want to do the driving yourself, try an exciting ATV adventure. With easy-to-drive four wheelers, you can explore the historic Camp Hale area, four different mountain ranges, and the backbone of the country, the Continental Divide.

Whitewater River Rafting
Experience the thrill of whitewater rafting on the Colorado, Eagle, or Arkansas Rivers. Individuals of all ages and fitness levels can enjoy Colorado's rafting season, which runs from May through early October. According to your preferences, your guide can take you through challenging rapids or a relaxing, lazy float trip.

Hot Air Ballooning
Take flight and gain a new perspective on the grand spectacle of the Rocky Mountains. Hot air balloons ascend through the valley just after sunrise, and flights last from one to two hours. Guests experience the peaceful thrill of soaring above some of the finest scenery to be found in the world.

Team Building Adventure Programs A variety of programs are available in the area that include high- and low-challenge ropes courses, plus a wide range of other adventure and educational activities. Carefully designed programs assist companies and individuals in the increase of workplace productivity, team dynamics, the enhancement of personal achievement, and the development of well-balanced lifestyles.

Adventure Ridge
Adventure Ridge, situated high atop Vail Mountain™ at 10,450-feet, is the first day and night activity center of its kind in the world. Guests travel to Adventure Ridge via the quick and comfortable Eagle Bahn™ Gondola. The mountaintop activity center includes a 9-hole regulation disc golf course, horseshoes, croquet, bocce, volleyball, orienteering, indoor laser tag, entertainment, dining, and more! Packages that include activities and dining are available to groups.

Ranches
Let us introduce you to the beauty of the high country with a short ride that will take you back a century or more to the romantic time when cowboys and the mountain men first put this little corner of paradise on the map. The Vail Valley is home to many ranches that are ideal for daytime or evening activities. Enjoy a true western barbecue with some of the finest ranch cooking this side of about anywhere. Or try your hand at activities like cattle drives, sporting clay shooting, horseback riding, or fly-fishing. With acres of backcountry wilderness, lots of entertainment, and great food, you've got all the makings for a true Wesstern adventure. Play, eat, or just plain relax and enjoy a taste of the Old West with a bit of new spice!

Spruce Saddle Activities
Complimentary disc golf, croquet, volleyball, tetherball, badminton, and horseshoes are available at the top of the Centennial Chair at Spruce Saddle. An Outdoor barbecue lunch is served from 11am-2pm.

Mountain Biking
Take the Centennial Express Chairlift to the top of Beaver Creek Mountain, and enjoy a spectacular, extensive network of mountain biking trails. A wide variety of guided tours and instruction are available, or you can just cruise the mountain on your own. Other local tours include Vail Pass, Shrine Pass, Boreas Pass, Glenwood Canyon, and Vail Mountain. Choose from a simple bike rental to a fully guided tour including a gourmet picnic lunch.

Nature Hikes
The Beaver Creek Outdoor Activity Center offers hiking on Beaver Creek and Vail Mountains, as well as the Holy Cross Wilderness Area and San Isabel National Forest. Guides are educated in the flora and fauna of the Rocky Mountain as well as the colorful local history. Half day and full day public hikes are available by reservation, and private hikes can be customized for your specific group. Trail maps are also available for self-guided hiking on Vail and Beaver Creek Mountains.

Horse Stables
Located just above the base of Beaver Creek Mountain, guided trail rides are available into the surrounding wilderness. Groups typically depart in the morning and the afternoon. Guided fishing trips on horseback are also available and can include lunch.

Fly Fishing
Experience the great outdoors and try your hand at fishing in the nearby gold medal fly fishing waters and area lakes. Professional guides can help improve technique or teach the basic skills of fishing to your group. Comprehensive fly fishing schools are offered, as well as group and private guided wade and float trips.

Advance Lift Tickets
We offer lift ticket programs to ensure you receive our special group rate (with 20 or more guests), not to mention the benefits that go along with group lift tickets. We can assist in determining your needs, compile orders, and work with you to have them delivered to the hotel or registration area.

Chairlift & Gondola Rides
The views on the mountaintop are fabulous. We encourage everyone to ride the chairlifts or gondola at some point during your visit to the Vail Valley. Group lift ticket rates are available and vary depending upon the size of your group. (Please note: separate lift tickets are required for Vail and Beaver Creek.)

Ice Skating
Beaver Creek’s Black Family Ice Rink is conveniently located in the center of the Beaver Creek Plaza. The rink is open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily in the summer. Skate rentals are available.

Indoor Indulgences

Athletic Clubs and Spa Treatments
In addition to the spacious fitness center at The Pines Lodges, Beaver Creek and the Vail Valley feature some of the most superb spas and athletic clubs in the country. A variety of special programs are available for groups, from intense workouts to soothing massages and facials.

Vilar Center for the Arts
The new Vilar Center for the Arts at Beaver Creek is a celebrated year-round theatre where guests can enjoy many forms of artistic expression including music, drama, comedy, dance, and the visual arts. The facility, inspired by a small turn-of the century theatre in Munich, features a 530-seat theater, a multi-level lobby, and a 2,000 square foot Visual Arts Gallery. The design alone creates an aura of excitement and anticipation that proves ideal for a reception or a special evening out.

Photography/Videography
A group photo or video can be coordinated for any event, from an on-mountain lunch or race to accompanying your group on a dogsled tour.
